What Is a Weather Station?

A weather station is a group of sensors used to measure atmospheric conditions in order to understand the local environment and weather. The majority of weather stations record data on temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind direction and speed, and rainfall.

Personal home weather stations are used for private or, in some situations, scientific use, whereas an official weather station is utilized for aviation, military, and meteorological purposes. The most frequent owners of personal weather stations are farmers, schools, and weather hobbyists.
